Career

1850s – beings exhibiting history paintings with Society of Friends of the Fine Arts (Krakow)

1860 – publishes illustrated album of Polish historical costumes, Ubiory w Polsce

1863 – brother is killed in the January Uprising

1865 – exhibits Sermon of Skarga (1864, Royal Castle, Warsaw) at Paris Salon

1873 – appointed Director of the School of Fine Arts in Krakow

1880s – receives numerous commission related to official anniversaries
